She was famous for her performance as April Carver in the 2014-2015 ABC Family television series Chasing Life, and for being the White House Chief of Staff and Special Advisor Emily Rhodes in the television drama series Designated Survivor from 2016 to 2019.During 2009, Ricci began appearing in American productions that featured minor parts in How I Met Your Mother, House, and Greek. She was also featured in the Comedy Central series Secret Girlfriend in the role of Sasha. She starred as Maggie Winnock in Unnatural History as a Cartoon Network live-action series. The show also featured her in an Clean & Clear commercial. In 2011, she was featured in the short film Valediction. Ricci had a minor role as Don Jon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut movie.
